DESIGN NOTES: LA VESTE
Breezy, daring, joyful, untainted, and refreshingly original. These are just a few of the words the Spanish founders of La Veste use to describe their clothing and lifestyle brand. Who can’t get behind that? La Veste began in 2018, but I have more recently found it to be exactly what my wardrobe needs: fresh, colorful, and unique styles that make me feel as though I’m fresh from a trip to the Amalfi Coast.
“La Veste” is French for “blazer”-- but don’t be fooled, their version of the blazer isn’t your classic navy pant-suit silhouette. Rather, it is sophisticatedly chic, infused with some edginess, and the perfect addition to a jeans and white tee shirt look.
I’m particularly drawn to their “towel clothing” — terry cloth sets and dresses in a rainbow of colors that feel so effortlessly chic, whether you are on vacation or lounging at your neighborhood pool. They have a mod, early ’60s vibe that makes them seem like vintage treasures.
Each piece on their site exudes a sense of having come from the closet of an adventurous, well-traveled gal — from their punchy striped pants to their patent leather colorblock bucket bags. Be sure to also take a peek at their playful tableware collection— tres chic! Perusing their site will make you want to book a trip somewhere fab, but even still, just a few moments scrolling La Veste will make you feel as though you’ve been virtually transported to a European beach town.
We fill our homes with vintage and antique pieces that harken to lifestyles of the past. Our wardrobes should do the same! Shopping at La Veste truly is a treat, and I am thrilled to weave their bold pieces into my daily looks.
